Hi!
This gathers my attempts at translating the lyrics of songs I like.
Translating songs being another thing altogether, I’m just trying to give a glimpse of the meaning here.
While my understanding of Japanese may still be sketchy, I believe the result will be better than say, translation from English, itself being based off a Chinese translation… you get the picture.
Romanization can be seen by just stopping your mouse over a sentence in Japanese. I use my own romanization scheme, which notably makes the standalone は into wha and づ into dzu, so the corresponding kana never be ambiguous — even if you don’t know them.
Finally, because I despise ambiguity, the translation is always strictly for the Japanese it is below of. If I ever need to remodel the sentence due to language constraints — which I try to avoid, but is sometimes necessary to keep a certain style — I just write it below several lines of Japanese lyrics.
The original lyrics come directly from the CD booklets and therefore are undebatably accurate, no soramimi — unless I made a typo…
